Salling introduces software to sync iTunes with mobile devices
Stockholm, Sweden—August 29, 2008—Salling Software AB today announced the immediate availability of Salling Media Sync, a brand new application that synchronizes playlists, music, and podcasts in iTunes onto mobile devices from Sony, Nokia and Sony Ericsson.
"There are a lot of frustrated phone owners out there who love iTunes, but can't easily get their tracks onto their non-Apple device," said Salling Software president Jonas Salling. "With Salling Media Sync, they don't have to choose between their phone and iTunes: they can use both, together, seamlessly. And it's free for basic use, with no track limit, no playlist limit, and no expiration—ever."
Salling Media Sync couldn't be easier to use. Once the phone is connected to a USB port, the users simply select the playlists and podcasts they want on the device. Salling Media Sync not only uploads the music tracks and podcast episodes, but also replicates each actual playlist on the device and—on devices that support it—transfers play count metadata for each item to the device, reinforcing the sense of having a piece of iTunes in your pocket. Although Salling Media Sync works miracles with most media in iTunes, it can't bring over DRM-protected content.

Salling Media Sync is available now through Salling Software's web site (http://www.salling.com) at no cost for basic use.
At a price of $22/€15 per user license, the application will sync faster by minimizing the amount of data transferred in incremental syncs. Windows and Mac licenses are sold separately, but the bundle can be bought at a 25% discount.
Salling Media Sync works with iTunes 7.6.x and 7.7.x, is compatible with many popular phone models, and requires Windows XP SP2 and Vista with Windows Media Player 11 or Mac OS X 10.4.11 and 10.5.x.
